Why SailCloth fabric?
A highly versatile and durable material. 97% of old sails end up in landfill sites when they come to the end of their life on the water. We often forget that sails are in fact, highly engineered materials, built to last. We recycle and upcycle the sail cloth for a new lease of life.
The products we manufacture are made from the sailcloth that has cruised the world’s oceans, navigated through storms and brought their crew back to safe havens.
Why Deadstock fabric?
Deadstock fabric is unused or surplus material from textile production that would otherwise go to waste, often ending up in landfills or being incinerated. By using deadstock, we give these high-quality, unused fabrics a second life, transforming them into purposeful and beautiful products.
Choosing deadstock aligns with our commitment to sustainability and reducing the environmental footprint of manufacturing. It minimizes the demand for new resources, cuts down on textile waste, and supports a circular economy where materials are reused rather than discarded.
At emaré, we see the potential in what others might overlook, turning forgotten fabrics into unique creations that carry stories of resilience and care for our planet.
Why emaré?
emaré, (pronounced eh-mahr-ay) our business name, draws inspiration from the folklore story of a skilled embroiderer named emaré who was cast out to sea, eventually finding refuge in a distant kingdom. Reflecting our connection to the sea and the art of sewing, "emaré" combines "mare," the Latin word for "sea," with the tale of this talented seamstress who triumphed over adversity.
Care
Our products are extremely easy to clean. A bit of warm water with detergent or soap on a cleaning cloth and some elbow grease, will get most marks off. For stubborn blemishes, we recommend soaking in napisan and then air drying.
Can I place a corporate order?
Of course! Fill out our "contact us" form to request your order. Once you submit the form, a member from our team will be in touch to arrange all the finer details.
Do you offer bulk discounts?
Corporate pricing starts at 10 products and up. Please fill out our "contact us" form and we’ll be in touch.
Can you add my company logo to your product?
We offer unique personalisation options for corporate customers ordering over 10 or more products. Please fill out our "contact us" form and we’ll be in touch.

What methods of payment do you accept?
For corporate orders we accept all major credit cards, and can also arrange direct invoicing options if preferred.
What’s your return and exchange policy?
We do not accept returns or exchanges of items that were purchased as a corporate gift with personalisation. However, our products are guaranteed by a limited lifetime warranty that covers any faulty items that functionally impairs the product.

Missing Deliveries
We make every effort to ensure that your order is delivered to you safely in a timely manner, and so it is important that all delivery information is correct upon placing your order.
If possible, we recommend avoiding the use of PO Box's and apartment delivery addresses (if no concierge or parcel box) to minimise the risk of your order being lost or damaged.
Where do you ship from?
We dispatch from Bayswater, New Zealand within 48hrs.
Please note, there may be dispatch delays during peak selling periods
Which shipping company do you use?
We use New Zealand Post.
How do I track my order?
When your order is dispatched, you will receive an email notification with a tracking link.
What do I do if I think my parcel may be lost in transit?

We will contact New Zealand Post, they will then investigate the whereabouts of your parcel.
Do I have to pay import and duties tax on an international order?
emaré does not collect international taxes from customers, so the customer is responsible for any taxes or charges for import into their country. These vary widely depending on the country you are having your order delivered to.
If I want to return my order, does emaré cover the return shipping cost?
emaré does not cover any return shipping costs. Items for return are shipped back at the customers expense.
ORDERS
Where’s my tracking number?
All online orders come with a tracking number which we will send to you via email. Please allow 48 hours from purchase for the shipping confirmation email and tracking details to be updated.
If you don’t see anything and are concerned, just message through our Contact Us form and quote your #emare order number.
What if my order hasn’t arrived?
We’ll do everything we can to make sure you get your products in time. If your order has not arrived within the maximum estimated timeframe just message through our Contact Us Here form with your order details.
Can I make changes to my order?
Please use the Contact Us form within 12hrs. We’ll do our best to work with you.
How do I cancel my order?
Submit a request via our Contact Us Here form within 12 hours of placing your order.
